Capitalism is killing (U.S)

Capitalism - “an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit.”

We’re living in a time where inflation is sky rocketing, country wide homelessness is in full effect, food shortages all over, workers on strike and literally everything is going up BUT our wages. We’re seeing our country under a magnifying lens and in real time seeing how fucked it is. These systems have been in place for hundreds of years and done more hindrance than help in my opinion. We’re forced to work 40+ hours a week and more than half of us still can’t fully support ourselves financially because we don’t get paid enough. On top of that, some people can’t even find jobs to give half of that. Unless you have direct help, family, or your community’s support, it’s hard as hell out here. Everything costs down to our basic human needs and even that’s getting more expensive. We have so many tools and resources but very little moral delegation in our society to put things in place. The higher ups want more money, power and control, meanwhile the rest of us working class simply want to make ends meet and be comfortable. Working and making money should be for extra, recreational things like if you want a fancy car, big house, going to fancy restaurants, nice jewelry, designer clothes, etc. However, regular food, water and shelter should be a given and not something you must work for. Our bodies need these things to survive as a human need and not a want. Understandably, structures in place can benefit by monitoring and regulating our intake so we don’t excessively use. But at the very least every human should have these things for free and the people working in these businesses to provide our many different services, should be able to live off of their wages. Our country makes and spends so much money on shit that has little benefit to our health/living needs and when you add up all the spending, you could end homeless, world hunger and then some… We literally have billionaires walking around who’s individual net worth alone could do it. That doesn’t seem insane to you!? But the way we’re moving it’s every person for themselves living to ultimately put money in someone else’s pocket and reap very little benefits for our hard work. We shouldn’t be living like this because life isn’t supposed to be like this. We have to make a change and speak up more. Rally more. Vote more. Fight more. But we can’t give up. We must keep going until we see a change. I want to see a better future for the younger generation and the next ones to come. I want them to be able to live and not only survive. I want them to live and know what it’s like to thrive… But it starts with us, in our present moments.
