Meet people where they are.

“If you have expectations of people, prepare yourself for disappointment.”

When i say that, i mean it in the most sincere way. People aren’t perfect and neither are you. It’s nothing wrong with wanting things to go a certain way, but don’t get too caught up in the idea. Things happen the way they’re supposed to, even if you don’t like how it plays out. Your expectations aren’t a reflection of people, they’re just a reflection of your wants and desires. People are people. People have good days and people have bad days, most of the time it has nothing to do with you. All you can do is accept them for who they are and where they are as long as they aren’t hurting you, themselves, or anyone else. Hold people accountable of course, but also leave room for growth and improvement and the time that it may take. Give people space if need be. But always remember that effort is key. This applies to you as well. Give yourself the time, space and energy you need to grow. Allowing yourself and others to have the space to just be, you truly set yourself free.
